ResponseIQ offers three response length settings: Short, Medium, and Long. Each produces a different level of detail in your AI-generated responses. The right choice depends on your industry, review volume, and how much engagement you want with each reviewer.
Length Options Explained

When to Use Short Responses
Short responses work well when you receive a high volume of positive reviews and want to acknowledge each one without overly lengthy replies. They are concise and to the point, typically consisting of a thank-you, a brief reference to the review content, and an invitation to return.

When to Use Medium Responses
Medium is the default setting and works well for the majority of businesses. It gives the AI enough room to reference specific details from the review, express gratitude or empathy appropriately, and close with a forward-looking statement. Most customers find this length to be thorough without being excessive.
When to Use Long Responses
Long responses are best for businesses where customer relationships are deeply personal, such as healthcare providers, boutique hotels, or professional services. They give the AI space to address multiple points raised in a review, provide context about your services, and demonstrate genuine care.

Long responses are particularly effective for negative reviews, where a more detailed reply shows the reviewer (and potential customers reading the exchange) that you take feedback seriously and are willing to engage thoughtfully.
How to Change Response Length
- Go to Settings from the left sidebar.
- Find the "AI Response Preferences" section.
- Select Short, Medium, or Long from the Response Length dropdown.
- Click Save to apply.
Like tone, the length setting applies to all new responses for the selected location. Existing pending responses are not automatically regenerated.
