Manually Regenerating Insights

You can manually regenerate your AI Insights at any time using the Regenerate button on the Insights page. This is useful when you have made changes to your business and want to see updated analysis sooner than the automatic 5-review trigger would provide.
How to Regenerate Insights
- Navigate to the Insights page from the left sidebar.
- Make sure you have the correct location selected in the location switcher.
- Click the "Regenerate Insights" button in the top-right corner of the Insights page.
- Wait for the analysis to complete. This typically takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
- The page will automatically refresh with your updated insights.
When to Regenerate Manually
While insights regenerate automatically every 5 new reviews, there are situations where a manual regeneration is valuable:
- After addressing a major improvement area: You have fixed a significant issue and want to see if recent reviews reflect the improvement.
- After a period of high review volume: If you received many reviews in a short time (e.g., after a promotional event), you may want an immediate analysis.
- Before a team meeting: Generate fresh insights so you have the most current data for discussion.
- After changing business operations: If you have made staffing changes, updated your menu, renovated, or otherwise changed your business.
What Happens During Regeneration
When you trigger a manual regeneration, the AI reprocesses all reviews for the selected location from scratch. The previous insights report is replaced entirely with the new one. There is no way to view historical insights reports, so if you need to preserve the current report, take a screenshot or note the key findings before regenerating.
Note
Manual regeneration analyzes the exact same pool of reviews as automatic regeneration. The only difference is the timing. The results may differ slightly from the previous report because the AI model can surface different nuances on each pass, especially when review data is borderline between themes.
Permissions
Only team members with Admin or Manager roles can trigger a manual insights regeneration. Viewers can see the insights report but cannot regenerate it. This prevents unnecessary regenerations in teams where multiple people might be tempted to refresh the data simultaneously.
Rate Limits
To prevent excessive use of AI resources, manual regeneration is limited to once per hour per location. If you attempt to regenerate within an hour of the last generation (whether automatic or manual), you will see a message indicating when the next regeneration will be available.
Pro Tip
If you have just triggered a manual regeneration and new reviews come in, the automatic 5-review trigger will still work normally. It will wait until 5 new reviews accumulate after the most recent regeneration before triggering again.
